Thing #4

Well there appears to be some interesting things going on in the community sites...

I'm not too into MySpace as a space to hold my stuff BUT... it is however really good for connecting to music bands, artistes, writers etc that i would not normally have heard of or be able to listen to or learn about... One of my latest favourite NZ artists is called Kimbra and she has a wonderful MySpace page with music videos and songs that appear nowhere else.

Check her out at: http://www.myspace.com/kimbramusic

For myself and my stuff, I like spaces that have lots of people to connect with on... But they also need to be decorative and fun... Have lots of connectivity and lots of ways to express me as me.

Bebo is lots of fun!

Nice linkages to other sites, and the ability to check the site for people in your email account address books. I love the different skins available to individualise your home page and the fact that you can make your own - with "how to" instructions available.

Facebook is a quite professional looking connection site... and I do like that you can send virtual gifts to friends.

But if you want a more New Zealand orientated site I quite like OldFriends (via TradeMe). I have a profile there and have uploaded many school pictures to share with old friends.

What a way to start a blog.... 2.0

Well this is my first post... Am unsure if it will look the same after i play around with my blog settings... Although I suspect not.

Setting up was easy enough although i have already set up one blog... haven't posted there for a while though...

...Have now played with blog settings and blogger is simple and easy to use and while there are many choices in colour and text etc, not too many that you feel overwhelmed...

Feel happy with choices of colour etc and know i can go back and change if need to, or even want to! Especially as the preview doesn't show you previews of everything especially when you haven't posted anything yet.

This is also a big "hey there" to all my 2.0 ACL blogmates.... will try to keep up in the weeks to come!
